BEFORE DEPARTURE

GETTING READY

ADMINISTRATIVE FORMALITIES

No visa is required for French and most European people. Only a valid passport is required. Other nationalities, please contact the nearest Consulate of Morocco.

VACCINE

No vaccine is mandatory. Recommended are vaccinations against Tetanus and Hepatitis A. For more information, please consult your doctor.

EQUESTRIAN PREPARATION

We would not recommend beginners to participate in one of our horseback riding trails. For the most trips, an advanced level is necessary. To reach a more advanced level we offer a preparatory training at our stable that gradually leads you to your first outdoor experience.

MONEY

You can withdraw money with an international money card at any bank. Local currency is the dirham = DH. For indication 1 ? is approximately 11 DH (variable exchange rates possible).

INSURANCE

In principle, the money card gives its owner the guarantees of repatriation insurance, personal accident and public liability. Other insurances offer additional guarantees such as cancellation insurance, interruption of stay, repatriation, loss, theft or damage of baggage. Please find out if your insurance covers for riding accidents.

CLIMATE

Morocco is "a country where the sun is hot and the earth is cold." This saying is proved to be true in almost all regions, except the coast. Depending on the season and place, it will be necessary to bring more or less warm clothing for the night and a warm sleeping bag. During the day short clothing and a jacket is advisable. Note that in most cases it is rather hot during the day and much colder at night, especially in the mountains and during winter in the desert.

WHAT TO BRING

Pharmaceuticals are rare and expensive. Therefore it is recommended to take some common products, including protective products against the sun. One can locally purchase a typical scarf, which protects against the sun and dust (essential in the desert). Also think about taking any other medication that would be indispensable.

Other accessories:
• Headlamp or flashlight
• Drinking bottle (at least ½ better 1 liters)
• Pocket knife (not to be wearable on the trip)
• Riding pants, fleece for the evenings
• Long-sleeved shirt for protection against the sun
• Chaps or half chaps
• Lightweight boots or walking shoes
• Waterproof windbreaker or waterproof cape
• Hat (we do not provide helmets or bombs)
• High protection sunscreen + sunglasses
• Wipes
• Kleenex, etc...

The tents (for 2 persons) and mattresses are provided.
Please bring a warm sleeping bag.

BEVERAGES

Drinks during meals (mineral water) are provided. Alcoholic drinks should preferably be bought on the plane or in the duty free shops at the airports.
